She understands why ordinary people may need the protection of the courts against a powerful government or entity. The protective role of the courts is one of the key differences between freedom and injustice.

She knows how our court system (in both civil and criminal cases) can be perilous for poor people.

She understands how poor citizens  often times compromised or waived their constitutional rights without realizing the consequences of such actions. 

Cases in county courts at law usually are not glamorous or exciting, but effective county courts are vital to our community. Tot will draw on the values she got from her parents–hard work, faith in God, respect for all people, respect for law, and protection of property acquired through honest work.  Tot Le will put in the hard work to make the court run effectively and fairly. Tot herself said it best: “I will take each case, one at a time, without bias.”
